2007 Magnolia Cup

The theme for this year's Magnolia Cup competition is "TIMELESS ELEGANCE".  The competition will be held September 15th, at 8:30, in the Vicksburg Convention Center.

Rules and Application Form

1. Only floral designers who are in good standing with MFA and live in the state of Mississippi are eligible to enter.
2. MFA Dues must be paid and current.
3. Each entry is to be creatively titled.
4. Designs must be set-up on Saturday, September 15th by 12:00 noon.
5. Contestants' designs can not be removed  until 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 16th.
6. Each contestant is responsible for all props, table, flowers, supplies, accessories, etc.
7. MFA or Central Allied Florist Association will not be held responsible for the loss or damage of any items used in the design.
8. Designs must contain at least 25% fresh materials.
9. Judging will be ranked according to the following:
   • Interpretation - 35 pts.
   • Creativity - 20 pts.
   • Design - 35 pts.
   • Color - 10 pts.
10. First place winner will receive $400.00.  Second place winner will receive $200.00  Third place winner will receive $100.00
11. The 2007 Magnolia Cup winner will not be eligible to enter the 2008 contest.  However, the 2007 winner will be the Chairman for the 2008 Magnolia Cup.
12. Display area and size of the entry can not exceed 4' wide x 4' deep x 10' tall.  Designs will be measured.
13. Contestant agrees to abide by the rules and the decisions of the judges.
14. There will be a "revolving trophy" awarded to the first place winner.  This trophy will be engraved and passed down from year to year.
15. Contest Registration fee of $20.00 should accompany your entry form.  All checks made payable to MFA.  Late registration fee, after Monday, Sept. 10th is $25.00.
16. Entry deadline is Monday, September 1-, 2007 for early registration.  Late registration will be allowed only is space is permitted and will cost $25.00.
